It begins with what already exists. || Geometry and materials bind this room to the rest of the building, || but its character is distinctly its own. || It's a place to gather, to listen, to connect. 

The corner site is what makes this building so special. || It gave us the chance to reconsider the building's posture || and how it can address both streets. 

The biggest risk in renovating? || Starting in the wrong place. || Our Sketch Study gets the fundamentals right, || before design begins.

Planting climbs a glazed screen,|| providing privacy from the neighbouring apartment building || while drawing light into the stair void and living spaces. 

We've always been drawn to rooms that can perform many roles. || This space shifts between event, conversation, || and exhibition without losing its composure. 

This room has an unexpected generosity, || borrowing space and light from the stair void. || Contained, but open to the rooms below and the city beyond. 

Sometimes density creates its own kind of intimacy. || When you're close to everything, your home becomes your retreat, || a quiet space in the middle of all that energy.  

Industrial and domestic co-exist in this part of Brunswick. ||  Inside, the same pairing. || Warm timber floors meet a galvanised steel stair and a stainless steel bench. || Pragmatic and reflective of the neighbourhood.  

The existing steel superstructure supports circular acoustic panels, || while curved lighting tracks interlace below. ||A field of highly functional elements, || unified by geometry and rhythm.
